In his first ever convention appearance.... Florida Supercon is proud to present Richard Roundtree!

An ICON to milliions! Richard Roundtree is best known to the world for his role as SHAFT! Can ya dig it? Shaft pretty much started the Blacksploitation film genre with the Shaft series of films in the 1970's (Shaft, Shaft Goes to Aftica and Shaft's Big Score). But don't forget the Shaft series of TV movies in the 1970's and the 2000 remake / sequel. Most recently, this cultural icon starred in the NBC TV series Heroes as Charles Deveaux (Peter's patient, Simone's father and one of the founders of The Company).

Richard's career has spanned just about 40 years, and he's been in almost 150 movies and TV shows. His other notable films in the 70's include: Charley One-Eye, Earthquake, Man Friday, Diamonds and Diary of a Hitman. In the 80's: Maniac Cop, Angel III: Avenging Angel, Party Line, Night Visitor and A Time to Die. In the 90's he starred in Seven, Once Upon a Time...When We Were Colored  and in 1996 he joined Bernie Casey, Fred Williamson, Pam Grier and other stars of 70s black action films in Original Gangstas. Soon after he co-starred in both "Steel" (as the junkyard-owning mentor to the title character) and "George of the Jungle" (as the jungle leader Kwame). In 2000 he returned to the role of John Shaft in the remake / sequel to Shaft starring Samuel L. Jackson. In recent years he co-starred in the films Corky Romano and Boat Trip. In 2008 he co-starred in Speed Racer as a racer-turned-commentatior who is an icon and hero to Speed.

On TV, Roundtree shined in the breakthrough miniseries "Roots" (ABC, 1977) and he's been seen in C.H.I.P.S., The Love Boat, Magnum P.I,, Outlaws, Murder She Wrote, A Different World, Amen and Beauty and the Beast (as Cleon Manning), 21 Jump Street, MacGyver, Beverly Hills 90210, L.A. Law, Roc, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and The Wayans Bros. He co-starred in two Bonanza revival movies, The Return and "Under Attack. He starred in the as Dave Chappelle's father in the short-lived Buddies. He's recently had recurring roles on Diary of a Single Mother, Desperate Housewives, Lincoln Heights and Heroes.

 

        
Legendary actor Fred “The Hammer” Williamson started his film career after retiring from a Football career that included runs with the SF 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders and KC Chiefs. He started with some small TV roles, including: Star Trek (The Cloud Minders) and Iron Side before playing Dr. Oliver "Spearchucker" Jones in the 1970 film M.A.S.H.

Hershell Gordon Lewis
"The Godfather of Gore!", Herschell Gordon Lewis is known for creating the "splatter film" subgenre of horror and a range of exploitation films. Hershall's Blood Feast was produced in 1963 and is considered to be the first "gore" film ever made.  He followed up his success with Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964) and Color Me Blood Red (1965). Robb
Ghost Hunters International - Lead Investigator. Robb Demarest, a native of Albany, N.Y., joined the Ghost Hunters International team after three years with Florida Ghost Team, an affiliate of The Atlantic Paranormal Society. Robb's responsibilities on the team have ranged from research, technology management and client relations, to his current position as assistant director. He has also participated in speaking engagements on behalf of the group.

The evasive nature of paranormal investigation fueled Robb's desire to become involved in the field at an early age. He found it fascinating, he says, because it "was like reading a mystery that had the last page cut out."

As the lead investigator of the Ghost Hunters International team, Robb hopes to push the boundaries of current knowledge in the field and approach these enigmas with the open-minded skepticism for which his TAPS counterparts are known.

With a background in psychology and business administration, Robb has previously worked as an ESL teacher and works as a professional tutor. A practicing martial-artist, he also has a passion for traveling — for which Ghost Hunters International is a perfect outlet.

 

Brandy
Ghost Hunters International - Case Manager. Brandy Green can be seen on Sci Fi’s Ghost Hunters International Wednesday nights at 9PM ET/8 CT. Childhood experiences with the paranormal fueled Brandy’s deep-seated desire to further her understanding of the unknown. Having created and ran her own paranormal investigation team based out of her home state of Minnesota, Brandy began expanding her knowledge of the paranormal during her free time...“What the average person runs from, Brandy seeks,”

Educated in the field of Psychology, Anthropology and the performing Arts, Brandy works to apply her schooling towards her passion of the paranormal and is thrilled to have the ability to work internationally with a group of devoted and passionate paranormal researchers who work to further the betterment of the field through the use of improved equipment and technology, theories and education.

 

Less Than Jake
Less Than Jake comes to Florida Supercon!

Less Than Jake is an American ska punk band from Gainesville, Florida. Originally formed in 1992 as a power pop trio, the band evolved into a hybrid of ska punk. Less Than Jake have also been cited as showing influences from a wide variety of genres including post-grunge, alternative rock, third wave ska, punk pop and punk revival. To date, the group has released eight full-length studio albums and a number of singles and compilations. The current lineup comprises guitarist/vocalist Chris Demakes, bassist/vocalist Roger Manganelli, drummer/lyricist Vinnie Fiorello, trombonist Buddy Schaub and saxophonist Peter "JR" Wasilewski.

On June 24, 2008 the band released their latest studio album, GNV FLA, on their own label Sleep It Off Records.

Less Than Jake will be the headling band at Florida Supercon on Friday June 18 and will take the stage at 10:00pm on the Main Events stage.

 


Sally Kellerman is best known for her role as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan in the film MASH (1970), for which she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Sally has dozens of credits including starring roles in the classic Star Trek 2nd pilot episode Where No Man Has Gone Before, as Rodney Dangerfield's teacher / love interest in Back To School, The Boston Strangler, Brewster McCloud, The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Lost Horizon, Centennial, Foxes, Moving Violations, Meatballs III: Summer Job, That's Life!, Boris and Natasha, Prêt-à-Porter, American Virgin and many more!

 

Larry Kenney
Superstar Voice Actor, Larry Kenney is best known as the voice of Lion-O and Jackalman in The Thundercats. His other credits include: Silverhawks (as Bluegrass), VH1's Best Week Ever (Announcer), Grand Theft Auto IV (The Beat 102.7 Announcer), Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, the voice of Count Chocula, the voice of Sonny the Cukoo Bird (Coco Puffs), Karate Kat and was a regular cast member of The Imus in the Morning show from 1973 to 2007. We're excited to have Larry back at FSC for a 2nd time!

 

Carro
Best known for her role as Viper pilot Louanne "Kat" Katraine on Battlestar Galactica, Luciana is an accomplished film and television actress who played two dozen roles over the past seven years. Her credits range from a recurring role on Showtime comedy The Chris Isaak Show to a role opposite Rene Russo and Al Pacino in Two for the Money. Other credits include "The L Word", "White Chicks", "Dr. Dolitlle 3", "Everwood", "Murder at the Presidio", "Snowglobe", "Blades of Glory", "I Want To Marry Ryan Banks", "Mob Princess", "Smallville" and "Young Blades".

Luciana recently co-starred as Deputy Sherriff Monroe in Phantom Racer, a horror flick that aired on Syfy this summer, and as abducted wife Sofia West in Urgency, an indie thriller slated to go straight to DVD early this year.

Luciana is currently working on Caprica, the long-anticipated prequel to Battlestar Galactica. In Caprica, she plays the role of Pryah, an assistant to Dr. Daniel Graystone.

 

John Wesley Shipp
Emmy Award Winning Actor John Wesley Shipp is the face of The Flash! Iron Sheik
The Iron Sheik returns to FSC! Wrestling Legend The Iron Sheik is a former WWF / WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Hall of Fame Inductee. He defeated Bob Backlund for the WWF title in 1983, ending Backlund's near six year title reign. He lost the title in 1984 to Hulk Hogan, starting Hogan's long 1980's title reign. In addition to being the WWF Heavyweight Champion, he is also a former Tag Team Champion, having teamed with Nikoli Volkoff under the management of Classie Freddie Blassie. Stacy Heather Tolkin
Stacy Heather Tolkin is the voice of Sally Brown! Stacy joins other Peanuts cast members Brad Kesten and Angela Lee Sloan to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of Peanuts! Stacy is the voice of Sally Brown in The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown? and What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? The newest investigator on Ghost Hunters International, Scott spent 4 years as lead investigator with a local ghosthunting group in Tallahassee, FL before co-founding ALPHA (Association for Locating Paranormal & Haunted Activity). In 2010, his dream was fully realized when he was cast as an investigator for SyFy’s hit reality powerhouse, Ghost Hunters International. He has since been traveling abroad investigating with the Ghost Hunters and his first episodes will air starting this summer's season premiere.

Stacy "The Kat" Carter. Also known as "Miss Kitty". Former WWF wrestler and valet. She first appeared on Monday Night Raw as Miss Kitty, an assistant to Debra and was soon put in the role of Chyna's valet. At Armageddon in December 1999, Miss Kitty won the WWF Women's Championship in a Four Corners Evening Gown Pool match by defeating then-champion Ivory, Jacqueline, and Barbara "BB" Bush by stripping them of their gowns. Paris Themmen is best known for his role as Mike Teevee in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, when he was 11 years old. He was also a voice actor for Macross Plus (1994) and appeared on Star Trek: Voyager (Season 6, Episode 13: "Virtuoso") in 2000 and The Ed Sullivan Show in the early 70's. In 2008, he was a contestant on the game show Duel in April and July. The "Knockout" Mia St. John is possibly the most popular female boxer of all time. She has held the WBC Light and Welterweight World Titles, the IFBA Lightweight World Title and the IBA Continental Lightweight Title.
