An ICON to milliions! Richard Roundtree is best known to the world for his role as SHAFT! Can ya dig it? Shaft pretty much started the Blacksploitation film genre with the Shaft series of films in the 1970's (Shaft, Shaft Goes to Aftica and Shaft's Big Score). But don't forget the Shaft series of TV movies in the 1970's and the 2000 remake / sequel. He's a complicated man. But no one understands him but his woman. John Shaft!
Most recently, this cultural icon starred in the NBC TV series Heroes as Charles Deveaux (Peter's patient, Simone's father and one of the founders of The Company).
Richard will be making his very first convention appearance at Florida Supercon! Be sure to come meet the icon for the first time!
Richard's career has spanned just about 40 years, and he's been in almost 150 movies and TV shows. In the 70's he starred in the films Charley One-Eye (1973), Earthquake (1974), Man Friday (1975), Diamonds (1975) and Diary of a Hitman (1977). In the 80's the films Maniac Cop, Angel III: Avenging Angel, Party Line, Night Visitor and A Time to Die. In the 90's he starred in David Fincher's Seven, Once Upon a Time...When We Were Colored and in 1996 he joined Bernie Casey, Fred Williamson, Pam Grier and other stars of 70s black action films in Original Gangstas, in which the older stars return for one last go-round. Soon after he co-starred in both "Steel" (as the junkyard-owning mentor to the title character) and "George of the Jungle" (as the jungle leader Kwame). In 2000 he returned to the role of John Shaft in the remake / sequel to Shaft starring Samuel L. Jackson. In recent years he co-starred in the films Corky Romano and Boat Trip.
On TV, Roundtree had one of his best opportunities in the breakthrough miniseries "Roots" (ABC, 1977), playing a handsome, well-groomed carriage driver with whom Kizzy (Leslie Uggams) falls in love until she sees that when the master (George Hamilton) calls. He's been seen in C.H.I.P.S., The Love Boat, Magnum P.I,, Outlaws, Murder She Wrote, A Different World, Amen and Beauty and the Beast (as Cleon Manning), 21 Jump Street, MacGyver, Beverly Hills 90210, L.A. Law, Roc, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and The Wayans Bros. He co-starred in two Bonanza revival movies, The Return and "Under Attack. He starred in the as Dave Chappelle's father in the short-lived Buddies. He's recently had recurring roles on Diary of a Single Mother, Desperate Housewives, Lincoln Heights and Heroes. In Heroes he played Charles Deveaux (Peter's patient, Simone's father and one of the founders of The Company). In 2008 he co-starred in Speed Racer as a racer-turned-commentatior who is an icon and hero to Speed.

ROCK BAND Cosplay Competition. Come dressed in cosplay as a band of your favorite anime or cartoon characters (imagine Naruto on lead vocals, Sasuke on bass, Gaara on guitar and Temari on drums... or Master Shake on lead vocals, Frylock on bass, Carl on guitar and Meatwad on drums). COSPLAY SURVIVOR A new Supercon event! Enter as a team of 2-4 people to challenge up to 4 other teams (5 total) to see who the first Cosplay Survivor is! Participants will enter Cosplay Island at 12:00am (Midnight) on Saturday night / Sunday morning and each team will be given a set of supplies to create a costume on the spot. Teams may trade and barter for supplies and the competetion will be recorded via webcam. The challenge will last until 6:00am on Sunday morning, at which point , there will be no more work allowed on the costume. Teams will present their costume on stage on Sunday afternoon (1:00PM) where the winners will be announced. Do you have what it takes to be the Cosplay Survivor?

Less Than Jake comes to Florida Supercon! Less Than Jake is a ska punk band from Gainesville, Florida. Originally formed in 1992 as a power pop trio, the band evolved into a hybrid of ska punk. Less Than Jake have also been cited as showing influences from a wide variety of genres including post-grunge, alternative rock, third wave ska, punk pop and punk revival. To date, the group has released eight full-length studio albums and a number of singles and compilations. The current lineup comprises guitarist/vocalist Chris Demakes, bassist/vocalist Roger Manganelli, drummer/lyricist Vinnie Fiorello, trombonist Buddy Schaub and saxophonist Peter "JR" Wasilewski. Less Than Jake will be the headling band at Florida Supercon on Friday June 18 and will take the stage at 10:00pm on the Main Events stage.

The Soup Nazi comes to Supercon! Larry Thomas is best known for his role on Sienfeld as the tyrannical Soup Nazi. Larry's film credits include: Austin Powers, A Fist Full of Quarters, Spaced Out, Postal and The Warehouse Job. His TV credits include: Scrubs, Arrested Development, Ladies Man, Mr and Mrs. Smith, Caroline in the City, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, CSI, General Hospital, LA Heat, The Tony Danza Show, The Geena Davis Show, Arli$$, USA High, Kirk and much more!
Stacy "The Kat" Carter. Also known as "Miss Kitty". Former WWF wrestler and valet. She first appeared on Monday Night Raw as Miss Kitty, an assistant to Debra and was soon put in the role of Chyna's valet. At Armageddon in December 1999, Miss Kitty won the WWF Women's Championship in a Four Corners Evening Gown Pool match by defeating then-champion Ivory, Jacqueline, and Barbara "BB" Bush by stripping them of their gowns. By 2000, she began to be referred to as The Kat. She left the WWF in 2001.
Daffney: Known the world over as "The Scream Queen" and "The Gothic Goddess", current TNA Wrestling Superstar Daffney started her career in WCW in 1999 and is a former two time WCW World Cruiserweight Champion. She has wrestled for dozens of wrestling promotions, including: Xtreme Pro Wrestling, Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, Women's Extreme Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling. She is one of the stars of the TNA Knockouts Women's Division and is a force to be reckoned with!
terri Runnels: Former WWF and WCW manager, host and wrestler. Terri started in WCW as Miss Alexandra York, manager of the York Foundation. After six years, she joined the WWF, where she was one of the first WWE Divas. She managed her real-life husband Dustin Runnels (Goldust) and was a member of the Pretty Mean Sisters alliance. She also managed The Hardy Boyz, Brian Pillman, Saturn, Raven, Val Venis, Edge and Christian. She briefly held the WWE Hardcore Championship and was the host of WWE Excess (2001 - 2002)
"The Wildcat" Chris Harris: "The Wildcat" is best known for his time with TNA Wrestling. He is a six time tag champion with James Storm (America's Most Wanted)
Paris Themmen is best known for his role as Mike Teevee in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, when he was 11 years old. He was also a voice actor for Macross Plus (1994) and appeared on Star Trek: Voyager (Season 6, Episode 13: "Virtuoso") in 2000 and The Ed Sullivan Show in the early 70's. In 2008, he was a contestant on the game show Duel in April and July. Paris also did a stint at Walt Disney Imagineering, where they design and build the theme parks,

The current lineup comprises guitarist/vocalist Chris Demakes, bassist/vocalist Roger Manganelli, drummer/lyricist Vinnie Fiorello, trombonist Buddy Schaub and saxophonist Peter "JR" Wasilewski.
On June 24, 2008 the band released their latest studio album, GNV FLA, on their own label Sleep It Off Records.
Less Than Jake will be the headling band at Florida Supercon on Friday June 18 and will take the stage at 10:00pm on the Main Events stage.

"THE HAMMER" comes to FSC! Fred "The Hammer" Williamson has just been added to the guest list for Florida Supercon 2010!
Legendary actor Fred “The Hammer” Williamson started his film career after retiring from a Football career that included runs with the SF 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders and KC Chiefs. He started with some small TV roles, including: Star Trek (The Cloud Minders) and Iron Side before playing Dr. Oliver "Spearchucker" Jones in the 1970 film M.A.S.H.

An ICON to milliions! Richard Roundtree is best known to the world for his role as SHAFT! Can ya dig it? Shaft pretty much started the Blacksploitation film genre with the Shaft series of films in the 1970's (Shaft, Shaft Goes to Aftica and Shaft's Big Score). But don't forget the Shaft series of TV movies in the 1970's and the 2000 remake / sequel. He's a complicated man. But no one understands him but his woman. John Shaft!
Most recently, this cultural icon starred in theNBC TV series Heroes as Charles Deveaux (Peter's patient, Simone's father and one of the founders of The Company).

"The Godfather of Gore!", Hershell Gordon Lewis is known for creating the "splatter film" subgenre of horror and a range of exploitation films. Hershall's Blood Feast was produced in 1963 and is considered to be the first "gore" film ever made. He followed up his success with Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964) and Color Me Blood Red (1965). MC Frontalot: The MC will be unable to attend due to his UK tour which has been extended into Supercon weekend. Louise Robey: Louise has moved back to France and will not be attending this year. Dennis Calero: Dennis will be unable to attend due to professional obligations.

Ghost Hunters International - Lead Investigator. Robb Demarest, a native of Albany, N.Y., joined the Ghost Hunters International team after three years with Florida Ghost Team, an affiliate of The Atlantic Paranormal Society. We are saddened to learn of the passing of Dick Giordano today. Dick was 77 years young and leaves us much too early. He was one of the giants of the comic book industry and an amazing person. He was a staple of our show, having been with us from the start and coming back every year to the show, with the exception being 2008 when he was too sick to travel. Thank you Dick Giordano for everything you have given over the last six decades to the comic book industry and community.
